If you have many titles in your DVD Flick project, you might want to consider adding a menu to your DVD so that you can select a title to play. Here in this post I offer you 2 solutions on how to customize your DVD Flick menu for easier navigation.
Solution 1: Use an Online DVD Menu Maker
Another solution is to use an online menu maker called Coffee Fueled Creations. It gives your DVD Flick menu a personal or professional touch with your own images and colors.
To use this online menu maker, just fill the blank and hit submit. Then a file will be downloaded automatically. After the file has been downloaded, just make a folder in Program files\DVD.
Alternatively you can use DVD Creator for Mac which provides all kinds of DVD menus for selection.
Solution 2: Customize DVD Flick Menu Templates Using Notepad or Text Editor
- 1. Once you installed DVD Flick, there will be a “template” with DVD menu files included. In order to make custom DVD menus, you should go to your Program Files directory, copy one of the template directories and edit the template.cfg file.
- 2. Add images you want to use as your new DVD menu to the directory and open the template.cfg file with Notepad or text editor. Here’s what the template.cfg file looks like:
- 3. As you can see, this file is composed of Name, Author, Description, Copyrights, transColor, audioMenu, subtitleMen, mainMenu and titleMenu. You can change these parameters to custom the DVD menu, such as the background image (highlight color and select color), the text (size, position, style), etc.
Tips:
backgroundImage is the image displayed for the main menu screen. You may change the image to anything you want, including JPG files.
highlightColor is the color each menu selection will change to as you arrow through the menu selections.
selectColor is the color a menu selection changes to when you actually choose the selection.
The colors are in RGB format. See Colors for information on how these values work.
- 4. After you’ve done with the editing, restart DVD Flick and check if all goes well. If not, you can open the template.cfg file and change the parameters.
