Part 1. How to Recover Password on WinRAR

Step 1. Select the RAR File to Unlock RAR Password

After download and installation, launch the RAR Password Recovery. Then click the "Add" button on the right of the interface so that you can add encrypted RAR file to the program.

Step 2. Select and Set for Attack Types

On the "Recovery" tab, there are 3 types of attacks for you if you forgot RAR password: Brute-force Attack, Brute-force with Mask Attack, Dictionary Attack. And you can see from the screenshot that there are some differences between these types of attacks.

For each type of attack, you have different settings to set, but no settings for Brute-force Attack. For example, if you choose Brute-force with Mask Attack, you will have Password Length and Character Set to set.

Step 3. Start to Hack WinRAR Password

Finally you could then click "Start" button, and the program will begin the process of cracking RAR password.

With the password found by the program, you could open your password protected RAR file and then unlock RAR Password.

Part 2. How to Reset Password on WinRAR

Follow the instructions below to learn how to reset password for WinRAR if you remember the password.

1. Right click on the RAR file whose password you want to reset. From the menu that appears, select "Extract All".
2. Enter the RAR file's password into the dialog box that appears and then press the "OK" button.
3. Click the "OK" button from the window that appears. In this way you are asking. to extract the archive to a folder located in the same directory. The folder will have the same name as the archive.
4. Right click on the newly created folder and select "Add to Archive."
5. Click on the tab that says "Advanced." Click on the "Set Password" button and type a password of your choosing into the box that appears.
6. Click the "OK" button. This will add the contents of the folder to an archive with the same name.

And you have successfully reset RAR password. The newly created archive will have the same content as your original RAR file with the exception of it having a new password. What to do if you forget RAR password? Don't worry. You could still manage to reset password on WinRAR with RAR Password Recovery tool!
